Australia - A luminous makeover for the Crown Casino Perth
Officially opened in 1985 as Burswood Entertainment Complex and re-branded in 2011 by the owner company Crown Limited, Crown Casino Complex is a fully-integrated entertainment precinct, renowned for its world-class facilities, premium restaurants and luxury accommodation. Located on the eastern bank of the Swan River in Burswood, Western Australia, Crown Casino Perth is only minutes from the Perth CBD and both domestic and international airports. Crown Casino features a 24-hour Casino, 397-room luxury Crown Metropol Perth, 291-room Crown Promenade Perth, 32 restaurants and bars, a nightclub, a convention centre and meeting rooms, a 2,300-seat theatre along with a host of recreational facilities, including a resort-style pool, day spa, retail outlets and riverside cycling trails. The combined hotel-room capacity and variety of offerings on one site make Crown Perth one of the most sought-after conference and exhibition destinations in Australia. Crown Perth is also host to some of the world’s most talented performers, with an exciting line-up of acclaimed musicals and shows every year. Whether it’s sport, music, theatre, gambling or dining, you'll probably find something of interest at the former Burswood Entertainment Complex.
A new high-powered GRIVEN flood light LED lighting system has recently replaced the previously installed metal halide flood lights which had lit up the Crown Casino Complex since its very first days. Beside the uncountable economic and eco-friendly advantages of a brand new LED lighting system, the newly installed fixtures are fitted with a double cluster configuration, which offers full independent control of each LED bank, allowing absolute freedom to create matching or divergent effects on formerly prohibitive large-scale facades and remote spots. Specified and installed by GRIVEN authorized dealer for Australia, the company ULA Group, the chosen fixtures selection includes 13 units of Powershine MK2 D in RGBW colour configuration along with 3 Powershine MK2 S RGBW. Installed at the base of the front and rear façade of this massive, truncated-pyramid degrading structure, the Powershine MK2 units are fitted with wide and elliptical wide optics in order to allow an even flood lighting effect on the building grid surfaces.
The double cluster version of POWERSHINE MK2 uses a total of 192 powerful RGBW LEDs, while the single bank configuration 96. Both are available with a vast choice of optics for the maximum lighting design flexibility and utmost creativity. Maintenance costs are significantly reduced by the IP66 certified protection rating coupled with the notorious long life span of the latest solid state lighting package, as well as by the total absence of moving parts and by the convection cooling system for the added bonus of a totally silent operation. The combination of RGBW LEDs provides an unprecedented astonishing white light output quality, as well as a wider variety of intermediate colour hues for an even broader range of application purposes. Both fixtures are also available in white light and monochromatic versions. The pure white light spectrum intensity management of the Dynamic White configuration creates a stunning visual rendering of warm tones, natural hues and cool shades altogether, thus offering an unmatched control over the creation of a vast range of the white light chromatic scale.
The ULA Group has been at the forefront of the professional lighting and visual market for over 24 years. During this time they have built a reputation as one of Australasia's leading providers and manufacturers of specialist lighting and digital visual solutions. The ULA Group delivers enhanced visual solutions to the most prominent and iconic structures, buildings, venues, productions and projects in Australasia and the world.
