DS, a dark
sky–friendly luminaire designed by Dark Source and manufactured by Griven, has won the
Gold and Green Build Back Better Awards 2025 in the lighting category as well
as the LIT Lighting Design Awards 2025 in the category LED LIghting Products
& Fixtures.
DS
was conceived by the lighting designer Kerem Ali Asfuroglu to address a
challenge shared by dark sky advocates worldwide: the lack of affordable,
sustainable, and durable outdoor lighting alternative which is aligned with
dark sky principles and industrial quality standards. By
marrying sustainability with technical precision, DS provides a responsible
alternative which enables outdoor illumination without compromising the night
sky.
